Tale of the Cicadas: Part 2

Okay everyone! Here's part 2!! The continuation of the story... :)

Part 2: Fred and his Buddies George and Roger

I walked past the school gates thinking to myself, "Another dull morning... wonder what's gonna happen today..." but little did I know there was a surprise waiting for me at around the corner past the first block. It would cheer me up for the entire morning :)

"Hey Nadiah..." my Year 10 friends Andy and Koko greeted me, "Guess what? I've got a cicada for you... I think it's alive." At that point I'm sure my eyes were as big as saucers and my mouth was hanging... A LIVE CICADA!! I've only experienced dead ones before :DD It'd be soo cool!! "Ooh... where is it!!?" "By the staircase."

I think I skipped all the way there coz I was so excited, and I found, sure enough, a cicada there. If it was alive, I think it would have been sleeping. Having only handling dead bugs before :/ I picked it up by its left wing with my right hand. After walking a few steps it starting dangling about and shaking furiously... and I started panicking!! O.O "KOKO!! ANDY!! What'd do I do!!??"

They stared at me back and panic started washing over their faces too. I had no choice but to let me land on the base of my thumb on my left hand. It settled quietly and I was instantly relieved :) "Oooooh!! I think I'm gonna make it my new pet!!" :D

Then I saw my friend V nearby looking at me amused yet in disbelief. "Hmm... I wonder... how about Fred?" I was instantly incredibly happy again, "YEAH!! FRED THE CICADA!! MY NEW PET!!" lol... I was sooo pleased... ~~ :( FOR NOW!!

After dropping off my bag near the lockers, I headed off to assembly. "Nadiah!" After earning a hug from my cute friend Meg, she suddenly backed away, sensing the tiny creature crawling about on my hand. I smiled at her and started walking towards my line in the basketball court.

Before I could even reach it, some people were already shouting at me and screaming away and looked absolutely horrified at the poor defenseless creature on my hand. "OMG!! WHAT IS THAT!!" "Nadiah! What the hay is on your hand!!" "EEKK!! It's so disgusting!"

One boy was edging ever so closely and was attempting to whack it off my hand. "DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO HURT MY PET FRED!! D:<" ALOT of people were backing off and some were staring in horror at my answer... "FRED!!?? You call that THING your pet!?" oh boy... he was really asking for it now :) "GRR... He's a CICADA! And stay away from him!!" and I immediately walked off, shielding him with my hand and drooping my shoulders slightly so no one else can see him. Not that it help... I bet half the school knew about it by then.

During the ENTIRE assembly I could feel and sense eyes boring holes into my tudong from EVERYWHERE! So many people were staring at me >:( Why? Because I have a cicada on my hand :) It's a good thing I'm not troubled by other people or else I'm sure I would have had a mental breakdown right there and then :D lol!!

Homeroom went by quickly because assembly took most of it away. Moving towards the first period of the day is always so busy. I was lucky not to drop him when putting on my bag or walking up the staircase. But THEN!! DUN DUN DUNNN!!!! I accidently tripped and Fred was a bit insecure on my hand. :'( and then!! HE flew away from my warm, soft, comfy hand... ONTO SOME JUNIOR BOY'S SHOE!!! >:( GRRR!! He left my hand for a some guy's shoe!! How unfair was that!! UGGHHH!! MEN! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hahahahhahahahaha!!!!

Lol ~ In the half hour I knew him, Fred gave me so much joy... even though he was a cicada... and he flew away from my life, never to return :)

Well... George's story is similar to part 3 except for the teacher's accent and they didn't scream their heads off at me when I brought the cicada into the class :) Yup~~ Good times~~

Okay... don't worry... not much left now... Roger's tale is the SHORTEST one I have.

Just two days after Fred's departure, after lunch I was going to get my books ready for the next lesson. All of a sudden, Min called me and said, "Hey Nadiah! Guess what I found!" I swung around and I was sooo happy!! And guess what was hanging from its wing from Min's hand? THE NEXT PET!! :DDD "Oh my gosh... IT'S ROGER!!! :DDD" I shouted and pointed!

All of a sudden he let go and the little bug flew away into the sky. And there I was pointing my finger at Min and feeling slightly dumbstruck. I bet I looked really absurd there like I was from some kind of cartoon. Sighing, I closed my locker and then I heard a chuckle next to me. ohh... I was so irritated then... MEN! >:( "Shut up KM"

Lol~~ Just to let you know I have nothing against the male population :) ... it's just that sometimes they get so annoying and it just makes ya wanna punch them. Sorry boys...

Hope you enjoyed that! Though it was a bit long this time :)

The Tale of the Cicadas :DD Part 1

Hey Everyone!

Now in Ipoh I know some people might have noticed a few things before Chinese New Year came this year. Actually, the few things are a few bugs. Well... okay, a lot of bugs, but to be specific, ALOT of cicadas! :D

Since a certain teacher told me they won't be around after CNY I've decided to dedicate this whole entry to them. I can't let the good memories fade away can I?

Yeah, the Cicadas in these tales look awesome don't they? Except they're more brownish than in the picture. But it looks similar so it'll have to do.

Hope you like these stories... and yes, they're from real life :)

(pls note the names are edited from real names of my classmates, enough to puzzle strangers but easy enough for a friend to figure out :] )

Tale 1: How I met the little bug! And how they gave me crazy ideas :)

I can't really remember how the bug topic was brought up in science class, but what I distinctly remember was Mrs. I going towards her shielded part of the classroom and stepping out with a strange object in her hand, "Now this is what a cicada looks like. They are everywhere nowadays. They don't live long and often comes before Chinese New Year and disappears afterwards..."

I was really fascinated! It was soo cute with it's far apart eyes and had such beautiful wings. Unfortunately, some people though otherwise... namely, Rochelle... "EEEEEWWWW!!!!!! EEEKKK!! Get it away from here pls Mrs. I!!! Is it dangerous??" Looks like I found out her new weakness, she thought cicadas were disgusting and scary :D

"What? No! They're vegetarians!" and then Mrs. I almost THREW it at her... but didn't really :) It was so funny and the ones who weren't scared or disgusted started laughing! A few others backed away too with a wary expression on their faces, they wanted to be NOWHERE NEAR IT!

"Ooh.. Mrs. I can we see?" Seth asked, so the teacher passed it by putting it onto his hand. I patted his shoulder and gave him a signal to pass it back to me. Rochelle was sitting behind me to the right slightly. I had this crazy idea. I turned back to her and gave her a sinister grin >:D I then pushed my hand further and further down her desk and all the while she was screaming. Everyone was laughing this time, even those next to her backing away slowly :) Even Mrs. I was laughing, "Okay, okay, enough of your fun. Stop scaring her now..."

Mrs. I was right. Dead cicadas were everywhere! Near the toilets, on the staircases, on the book racks, very cool if you ask me :) Poor Rochelle had cicadas chucked at her by Min and Bella all day and all week. I had quite a bit of fun myself and gave Bella cicadas every time I find one.

One day however, Bella was no where in sight and I found another one of the little creatures dead. Spotting Jojo with a couple of his friends nearby, I wondered if he liked cicadas, so I went to find out... :DD Usually I don't like being mean, but the cicadas were too much fun to pass. And Rochelle screams and runs away for her life EVERYTIME...

"Jojo!! Look what I found!! :D" And I shove the cicada right under his nose! The poor guy! I started laughing at his response, "Ugghh.. what is that??!" he suddenly jumped and cringed away and I had enough of my fun, so I smiled at him sweetly like an innocent little girl and backed away. Can't remember whether or not Bella came and flicked it towards
him... err... ehem ehem...anyway...

The moral of the story is... it's fun to chuck dead cicadas at people... even though it's mean :)
And unless you're getting revenge or people are being annoying, don't do it :)

LOL! Part 2 coming soon!

Have fun with cicadas next year.. lol! :D
<3

Can't be bothered with colouring the text right now, lol...

My Thoughts on the Holidays

Hey everyone!

Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate it :] Hope you all have fun in the Year of the Tiger... it's a bit late.. lol... but I'll say it anyway, Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Hmm... I know 14th of February is widely celebrated as Valentine's Day, but I don't really believe in it. But sometimes your opinion on it differs how you look at it. It's quite commonly known that it's just used as an excuse for people with low confidence to ask other people out as their "valentine". It gives them a boost somehow.

It's also the day the florist and the chocolate stores to make their highest profit or for A CERTAIN INTERACT CLUB IN A CERTAIN SCHOOL to make money :]

eheheh... those who go to my school will know what I'm talking about. Quite honestly, the roses and chocolates were too expensive for the amount supplied. I had to share the cost with my awesome friend to buy the gifts...

p.s. Yes, I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. The roses were all for my teachers because there wouldn't be another time to show them how much they mean to me. I didn't give them roses for the sake of Valentine's day, I gave it to them because they're awesome :]

Someone told me it's like celebrating your birthday, you're dedicating a whole day just for the one special thing. Well yes, that makes sense somehow, but I still think love should be cherished and celebrated everyday instead of just one day in the year. It's more special that way :] <3>

But like I've said before, your opinion on Valentine's Day depends on how you look at it. Even if I don't like it, some people might think otherwise. Well it's really up to them I guess :]

"I don't need roses or chocolates on Valentine's coz I celebrate love everyday :P"

My totally awesome poem!!!

On Friday during English class the teacher wanted us to write a poem. He said it could be about ANYTHING!! :D Yay so I came up with this... it's a bit long but... ENJOY!!

We started as strangers without a second glace,
Then we got off on a bad note not exactly friends,
Before I left for two weeks to go overseas,
We finally made it and was sort of at peace

When I came back nothing was the same,
That was the start of the horrible game,
We were continuously laughed at, teased and deceived,
It was really intense for a great number of weeks

Despite all that we got along quite well,
Sure it was difficult but it was swell,
I was so happy to be friends with him,
But as time flew by our bright light started to dim...

We were good friends then went on to being close,
But he stayed that was for only ten minutes the most,
Silence barges in every time I have something to say,
So when I can't do it, I painfully walk away...

When the new term started it was like when we met,
The crowd had quietened and the stage was set,
So I put up a strong front but shatter inside,
I smile and laugh when I just want to hide...

So from stranger to okay friends to being really good,
Then from good to being close you could see from where I stood,
It cuts me deep because I just couldn't believe,
My friend blew me away like the ocean breeze...

No matter how brief I'll never forget our memories,
They may have been short but were usually sweet,
I think about them and they make me smile,
So I won't lose hope and wait for a while...

I still believe one day we can make amends,
I still believe one day we can go back to being friends,
Forgetting the bad and starting again,
No cold shoulders, just warm light,
That's what I wish for in the darkness of the night...

Hope you like it :)

Long time no write...

Ello!! Sigh its been a very very very long time :)

I miss the good old days when I actually updated.... lol

I think I'm gonna clear up my timetable and start again! And this time I'm adding pictures just like my friend Amy :) His blog is awesome. A bit insulting at times but awesome nevertheless :)

Homework keeps on coming and it never stops. Especially from MATHS! Our teacher has never failed in giving us work to finish off at home ever since the first day of the term. And if she doesn't (gasp!) like today she makes us stay during lunch till we finish.

Speaking of lunch.... I was hungry today. AND MY FRIENDS TOOK MY LUNCH! >< well most of it anyway :) At least I didn't starve. And I had plenty more cookies at home ;)

Well that's all from me...

Later!
